8. A letter to... Wayne

i remember the first time i knew him was on one sunday morning when i was visiting chc and rhonda accompanied me. wayne and adam appeared out of nowhere in the jurong west hall and warmly welcomed me for service... but the first time wayne really impressed me was the first outing i had with his cell group , E110 at that time... he called the rest of the cell group members to gather at tiong bahru market to eat... and they did that supposedly to wish me all the best cos' i was going to be enlisted into the army in a few days' time. wayne was not a cell group leader then, but his charisma, his attitude toward the lost, his care for his cell group friends, his appreciation for people who are serving him... really amazed me ... and that kept me wanting to come back to this cell group week after week... as long as i could book out... i will want to hang out with the cell group people.

one thing about wayne is... he can understand how army guys feel when they are in camp and he knows the frustration that christians will face in army.. and cos' of that... he often encourages me to do my best in the army... and never give up on God... i remember the times when he will suan adam cos' adam is an officer and wayne himself is a sergeant... so wayne will always say that sergeants get the most job, but get the least recognition... it's really fun to know people who can understand how you feel.. and they really can be a listening ear to u when u need to speak.

it was wayne who brought E406 to where it is today... from one cell group to two cell groups now. it was wayne, who challenges me to bring my sister to church... and when i brought her ... that sparked the st nic's revival. it was wayne, who made a difference in the church by being involved in emerge 2006, and doing the announcement videos every week.

thank you wayne. thank you for being a a great cell group leader, an annointed intercessor, a souls-lover, a great teacher... a charismatic speaker... and most of all... a great friend . =)
