thank God for 2006. here are the few things i wanna thank God for:
- a smooth transition to CHC in 1st jan 2006.
- E110, my very first cell group, who encouraged me, prayed for me, and helped me through my first three months when i was in the army in palau tekong doing my Basic Military Training.
- Zechariah, Justin, eck Thong, and the many Christian buddies I have in Taurus 1/4 when i was in BMT. Their presence has encouraged me, as they showed me that I am never alone in the army.
- Sergeant Angus. He was my section commander during my BMT, and though he loves to make fun of me cos' the sergeants often do so, he showed little acts of kindness. By the way, he's from FCBC! haha.
- Elaine's first visit in CHC at 18th February 2006. she then made a decision to come to church every week, and on 18th March 2006, she gave her heart to Jesus and started to come for cell group, as well as serve in Children's Church.
- for being able to overcome parental objection for both elaine and myself during the months when we were actively going for cell group and church.
- St. Nick's Revival during Easter and big days after Easter (15th April to 16th April 2006). Many people from St Nick's started to come and give their hearts to Christ, as well as are rooted in the house of the Lord... people like xinru, melissa, yiling, charlynne... thank God for all of them. =)
- the birth of a new cell group from E110: E406 in April 2006! thank God that wayne, rhonda, adam, pow wee and many others are in my cell group... we were AS ONE. =D
- the times when i thought i cannot make it for cell group/ service, that i made it.
- thank God for joshua lim, my ex-cell group member in e110, a fellow signaller (he's an officer in stagmont camp btw...) he really inspired me truely, that a man can be the most hostile encironment in the army, and yet able to love God wholeheartedly, and love people fervently.
- emerge conference 2006 was phenomenal! though i missed part of the 2nd night's session, i really was encouraged to live my life for christ all over again...
- emmanuel's rededication, at friendship connection in june while we were having our services at hall 1 instead of hall 8. and thank God he subsequently availed himself to church and he started to live a life of obedience to Christ... =D
- ian's first visit to CHC at 29th july 2006 as he was interested in Reuben Morgan's worship service Reuben Morgan came to CHC. thank God he loved it.
- i passed my Individual Physical Proficiency Test (IPPT) with a silver award... for the first time in my life... i ran my 2.4km run with my personal best timing of 10min11sec when i was in the School of Infantry Specialists (SISPEC), and subsequently 10:10 when i was in the Signals Institute (SI)
- my water baptism on 27th august 2006! my new name is mark. haha. call me tim mark. =D this was the first time my grandma , dad and my mom stepped into the jurong west st91 building that CHC owns... my grandma thought it was a movie theatre...LoL. my dad's apperance was a total surprise for me. to God be the glory. =)
- E406 multiplied into two cell groups! e406 and e420. man... we had our finale friday... but it was good la... wow... 4 months and we multiplied into two cell groups... with at least 14 regular members on each cell group. can u imagine how big the cell group is now? haha.
- christmas weekend... brought 7 friends to church, only one responded. but thank God he did. the seven friends are... terence, raymond, eric, kok hong, jeremy, saw hoon, grace.
- and many more stuff that happened in the year. too tired to recall. ..
God is really good to me in 2006. though there were valleys, though there were times i really want to give up on life.. God is an invisible God who chooses the visible to show that He still is in control, that He has a great purpose and destiny for our lives, and through my life in 2006, with all the army stuff going on, when i have to change camps from Palau Tekong in the East, to pasir Labar at the far west, up to Stagmont camp in choa chu kang, and then back to the God-forsaken place at Jurong West... God has shown Himself to be a God to be always there whereever you go. He has been faithful.
Am full of expectancy for year 2007. God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that I can think or imagine.
tim.
