me and sis were discussing about our primary school life. really interested conversation we had.
can remember my times in primary school...
i was scolded every year for my handwriting... until primary 5... cos' by then, my dad has taken action and disciplined me in this area by asking me to do "penmanship exercises " for him every night.
i was scolded by my higher chinese teacher for not doing my work, and crying about it in class, i was further teased by my classmates for being a cry-baby. ( haha. secret revealed - i was a cry baby in primary school. )
i scribbled on a worksheet which i was supposeed to do, threw the worksheet out of my room window, and was caught by my teacher the next day for losing that piece of worksheet during her occasional spot-checks. how suay. but anyway, i have to copy word for word for that worksheet that i have "lost" on a piece of paper.
i lied to my primary 4 teacher that i have left my worksheet at home, when i have lost it. that happened before children's day. during the children's day holiday, i told my mom i got a headache and i don't want to go to school the next day. my persuasion was of no use - i went to school the next day, was harshly dealt with for lying to my form teacher, and thrown out of class with my table and chair.
i scored 0/5 for my spelling test, dad was called up to speak to my form teacher, and that night i got a thrashing from him. woops.
i was the class monitor during primary 3. i told the class boys to change in class, but that was not allowed. and we were caught. all of us (the guys) were caned by the discipline mistress. ouch.
oops? and many more... but anyway... primary school days were so painful, yet memorable. i wonder if the kids these days are dealt with as harshly as during my time, or do parents simply complain even at the slightest harsh remark a teacher would have said to a pupil.
being a teacher is so difficult a vocation these days.
